The Elmezzi Foundation has awarded Queens Library a grant for $6 million to be dispersed over the next ten years in order to establish the Jeanne Elmezzi Adult Learning Center (ALC) at the Long Island City Queens Library branch. Our grant to them will be the largest they have ever received from a single donor and we are excited to see the impact the ALC will have on the LIC and Astoria communities.
The ALC will provide adults with high school equivalency, computer literacy, and ESOL classes for free for anyone looking to enroll! We’re proud to be able to support Queens Library in their efforts to provide community resources, as well as to be able to honor one of our founders, Jeanne Elmezzi, and her devotion to reading.
