In 2016, The Thomas and Jeanne Elmezzi Private Foundation made a grant to Rock the Street Wall Street (RTSWS) towards a program for a group of young women attending W.C. Bryant High School. Through this program, RTSWS provided participants with a series of after-school workshops and one-on-one mentoring focused on financial literacy and leadership building and a field trip to the NASDAQ offices in Times Square.

Young women in the program were able to improve their skills and increase their knowledge of the field of finance; they also gained valuable insight from women in leadership roles at TD Ameritrade. The experiences and mentoring the students received provided them with an opportunity to envision viable careers for themselves in finance as well as the pathway to begin their respective journeys in this field should they be interested. One participant found the experience of working with RTSWS so empowering that she contributed a blog post detailing their trip to the NASDAQ offices and her conviction to pursue a career in this sector.
